 Hold your hands together at belt level, hands facing downwards: open as if grasping, or holding a staff with its ends to either side of you. Call between your hands a barrier, that it may deflect all which would attack you from the front. Draw the staff upwards, as if drawing up a curtain, to the level of your head, speaking the words of enchantment as you do so.
