Dry, powder, and combine in equal parts in the day and hour of mercury: pine needles, kudzu leaves, moss, and wormwood. Add to this a part equal to all the others combined of fine grain dust. Store this in a glass vessel buried on a high place for one lunar cycle, beginning on the 13th day of the moon. Cover the spot with flour, in a thick layer. On the next full moon, retrieve the powder.

When you wish to perceive some spirit which has not made a visual manifestation, cast the powder into the air in its vicinity. Alternatively, you may use it as an incense to provide for the appearance of spirits.
