Smudging is a method of sanctifying, or protecting an individual, object, place or ritual. Place the dried herb in a fire-proof vessel and waft the smoke onto whatever needs blessing. In order to smudge any resinous herb it must be placed onto charcoal or a hot stone to burn and smoke properly.
